Postpartum Support
As a postpartum care provider I provide practical and emotional support; knowledge of basic postpartum care; an understanding of normal newborn behaviour; basic infant feeding support and referrals for specialist help if needed.
I have also trained in pregnancy and infant loss bereavement and can support parents who are faced with postpartum recovery even if they haven’t brought a baby home.
Standard Postpartum Support Package
1 x antenatal visit
10 x postpartum visits
Resources: birth & postpartum plan templates, birth bag checklist, referrals.
How it works
- This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for me to clarify your specific needs and circumstances.
- We will discuss your expectations and options for your postpartum period and make plans for how to make the adjustment as smooth as possible.
During these visits I assist with:
- Checking in on your recovery and the development of your baby
- Providing evidence-based information on postpartum recovery, normal newborn development, appropriate hygienic practices, and coping skills for new parents.
- Practical support to allow you to rest, recover and care for your baby
- Enabling a positive infant feeding journey
- Reflecting on and debriefing after your birth, if needed
- Providing appropriate referrals where necessary
I am experienced in providing postpartum care and I am currently in the process of completing the required hours to gain full certification as a PPCP.
